Dr. Sharma earned his M.B.B.S. at Maulana Azad Medical College, at the University of Delhi, India, in 1980.  In 1985, Dr. Sharma earned his Post Graduate Diploma in E.N.T., also at the University of Delhi, India.

Dr. Sharma has an extensive background in his field, and has held numerous positions which have contributed to his expertise.  In 1982, he was the Junior Resident: Medicine and ENT at LNJP Hospital, New Delhi, India.  He filled a Residency in Internal Medicine from May 1983-September 1986 in the Coronary Care Unit, MCKR Hospital, New Delhi, India.  Upon completion of this residency, Dr. Sharma opened a private Family Practice in New Delhi, India.

In 1988, Dr. Sharma accepted the opportunity to come to the United States to pursue a Post- Doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Physiology, Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan.  From 1989-1993 he served as Research Associate and Research Scientist in the Department of Biochemistry, also at Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan.

Upon completion of these studies, Dr. Sharma then pursued an additional Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee, in Memphis - Chattanooga Unit.  He then proceeded to accept a Fellowship in Cardiology from June 1996 - June 2000, in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Dr. Sharma is an abundantly qualified physician, and holds licensure in Alabama, Utah, and in Florida.  He is a Diplomate American Board in Internal Medicine, and is Board Eligible : American Board of Internal Medicine - Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Sharma is an Affiliate in Training Member of the American College of Cardiology.  He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and scientific abstracts.  He also reviews manuscripts for several journals.

He is a Member of the Manuscript Review Board of Hospital Physician.  He is a Clinical Reactor for Internal Medicine and is a Clinical Reviewer for Contemporary Internal Medicine.

Dr. Sharma is a native of Delhi, India.  He enjoys hiking, jogging and traveling.  He likes living in Utah because of it's beautiful mountain terrain, surrounding areas, cultural diversity and healthy life style of this area.  He is married and has 1 son.
