The Heart
Center is the largest cardiology/ cardiothoracic surgery practice in the Intermountain West.
The practice consists of 16 cardiologists, 2 cardiothoracic surgeons and
3 nurse practitioners, and 1 physicians assistant.
The
practice is organized with the main center located on the St. Mark’s Hospital
campus and 2 additional clinics strategically located in the Salt Lake Valley.
These are located on the campuses of Pioneer Valley Hospital in the west,
and Alta View Hospital in the south.
Coverage
is also provided at LDS Hospital, Cottonwood Hospital and Jordan Valley
Hospital. This organization allows easy access to Heart Center services
from any location in the Salt Lake Valley.
Physicians within the Heart Center have privileges to practice at every
major hospital in the Salt Lake area (with the exception of the University of
Utah and the VA Medical Center) and participate with most major insurance plans
offered in our area.
The
Heart Center is an independent group practice owned entirely by its physician
shareholders. The physicians of the Heart Center provide a broad array of
cardiology subspecialty services, the majority of which are in-house.
These include:
Our
Cholesterol Reduction Nutrition Education Classes have proven to be quite
popular, and provide a successful way to learn how to reduce heart disease.
Our
heart surgeon is based at St. Mark’s Hospital.
We also work with the heart surgeons at LDS Hospital and the University
of Utah who provide coverage at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center.
The Heart Center is also involved in a number of research protocols,
giving patients with special needs access to state-of-the-art therapeutic
options. In addition, the Heart
Center has the first independent outpatient cardiac cath lab in the
Intermountain region on the campus of St. Mark’s Hospital.
The
Heart Center has a long tradition of providing consultative services in small
towns and rural communities. In
addition to Evanston, we maintain clinics in Tooele, Grantsville, Price, and
Vernal, Utah. These services have allowed us to remain independent and to
provide prompt service to our referring physicians.
