I Think I Can
Channel your mind to belive in something and it will be
Stuck in a Rut
You know those times when you just can’t get out of something that is troubling you? With that, you give up because you are expecting to fail. This is your rut and your mind is controlling it. Your mind is a very powerful tool and it can hinder or improve your life if you let it. Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you are right.” This is all powered by the law of attraction, a power known for thousands of years. By definition, the law of attraction is you get what you put your energy and focus on, whether wanted or unwanted. What you think, you become. You attract things in your life what your mind wants. A major factor behind the law of attraction is the energy and vibrations of our emotions and feelings. Any thought you may have, when combined with emotion, vibrates out from you to the universe and will attract back what you want.
Your mind can definitely play a negative part in your life. There are many people in the world, for example, who get frustrated at work and want that promotion but can’t see it in their mind and, therefore, do not achieve it. It’s all in the mind. Their attitude will reflect their altitude. Dr. Carmen Harra, a psychologist, counselor and author says “Many are trapped in a box to the incapacity where they can’t see themselves successful.” She stresses the mind is very strong and can affect many aspects in your life.
Another example is when people get so down in life, nervous or stressed that they can believe they are sick. They tell themselves over and over again that they are going to get sick when, lo and behold, they actually get sick. Researchers at the University of Wisconsin report that the activation of brain regions associated with negative emotions appears to weaken people's immune response to a flu vaccine. In addition, the Mayo Clinic confirms studies shown that positive thinking is a key part of effective stress management.
On the other side of the waiting room, it is important for the doctor to listen and believe patients when they believe they have an illness. Dr. Harry Adelson, a specialist in pain management, says, “It is my job to listen to people who are in pain and have no reason to why they have pain.” He says many times people will be told that it is in their head, but it is his job to believe them. The mind doesn’t have to hinder your life, however.
The positive side of the mind is where everyone needs to be. Take, for example, a woman who wants to pick up running and be the best runner she can be. At first, she has no motivation and finds it too taxing. However, she channels her mind to believe that she is the best runner and can handle anything. She puts pictures of top runners by her bed and tells herself every day that she can do it. Instantly, the results change. She now has plenty of motivation to go running every morning and feel good about it. Just like that, she can change the pace of her life and do something she loves! Making your mind think positively can produce great outcomes.
Will Smith is a notable actor but also an enthusiast on this subject. He says, “Your thoughts and words have physical power. I believe I can create whatever I want to create.” The main ingredient in Smith’s outlook is belief. You have to believe that something different can happen.
Make a Change
Albert Einstein once said, “We can’t fix problems by having the same kind of thinking we had when we first created them.” Changing your thoughts, mood, emotions and energy positively for something you desire will work — if you let it. Start thinking positively by being doubt free, expecting a positive result and acting like you already have it. However, if you think yourself healthy with positive thoughts, it clearly takes a little more effort to do so. You cannot think yourself to be healthy without maintaining good eating habits and exercise, says Maurice A. Ramirez, physician specializing in osteopathy and consultant for the National Speakers Association. You don’t have to be controlled by your mind. If you tell your mind to change, it will. So start now!
